Custom Pet Portraits Painted by Hand in Kettering, Ohio
Welcome to Snitzels! I’m a Kettering, Ohio artist specializing in custom pet portraits, original oil paintings, watercolor artwork, and one-of-a-kind commissions.
I’ve been creating pet portraits for more than 15 years and have spent a lifetime painting and drawing. Animals remain one of my favorite subjects, especially dogs, cats, and horses, but I also create portraits of people, landscapes, wildlife, and meaningful places.
Every portrait is painted by hand from your photos, with careful attention to personality, expression, color, and the little details that make your subject unmistakably yours.
If you’re considering a custom painting, browse the Gallery to see examples of my work, then visit Get a Quote to tell me about your project. Current sizes and pricing are available in the Pricing section, and I’m happy to answer questions before you order.
I work with clients throughout Ohio and ship finished artwork across the United States and beyond.

Custom Oil Pet Portraits
Each portrait is an original oil painting on gallery-wrapped canvas, created from your photographs. Prices below include one pet and a simple painted background.
-
8 × 10 inches — $275
-
9 × 12 inches — $475
-
11 × 14 inches — $550
-
12 × 16 inches — $675
-
16 × 20 inches — $1,100
An additional pet on the same canvas starts at $300; I recommend an 11 × 14 or larger for two pets. Detailed backgrounds, unusual compositions, other sizes, and framing are quoted individually.
A 50% deposit reserves your portrait. The remaining balance is due before pickup or shipping. Shipping is quoted separately, and local pickup is available in the Dayton area. Because oil paint needs time to set between layers, I’ll confirm your estimated completion date when we plan your portrait.
